Choose a clear-weather opportunity for the cableway or a suitable guided hike. Wind and cloud can affect access, so do not leave this entirely to your final morning.
The waterfront and city
The V&A Waterfront offers an easy introduction, while the wider city adds museums, neighbourhood food and history. Make time for both rather than staying only beside the harbour.
The peninsula
Coastal scenery and wildlife outings beyond the centre deserve a full day. Boulders and Cape Point require their own admissions and transport planning.
When to visit
Warmer months suit beaches and outdoor evenings. Cooler months can be rainy; mountain and boat plans need a flexible weather window in any season.
