Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque
The mosque is a major architectural visit. Check visitor hours and dress requirements directly before going; worship access and sightseeing access are not the same thing.
Muttrah
The souq, Corniche and hilltop fort provide a compact introduction to the older waterfront. Steps and heat can make the fort visit more demanding than the seafront walk.
Museums and the opera house
