Where to stay
Eixample
A practical choice for architecture and metro access. Compare walking distance to a station, and check whether a room faces traffic or an interior courtyard.
Gràcia or the old city
Gràcia offers neighbourhood squares; the old city puts historic lanes close by. Both need attention to noise and the route to your accommodation with luggage.
Getting around
Use the metro for longer distances and walk within districts. Check airport-ticket conditions separately from ordinary city travel. Park Güell and hillside areas require more effort than a flat city map suggests.
A flexible itinerary
Use these three days as a starting point. Add arrival, departure or excursion days to fit your stay.
Architecture with breathing room
Make Sagrada Família the day's main reservation. Continue through Eixample and choose one further building only if you enjoy detailed architecture visits. A long lunch and a street-level walk are a better balance than three consecutive timed entries.
The historic centre
Explore the Gothic Quarter and El Born, with a museum or church visit if it appeals. Pause for food, then walk towards the waterfront. Keep valuables close in busy streets and do not leave a bag unattended on the beach.
A park and a neighbourhood
Use your Park Güell booking as the starting point and explore nearby Gràcia afterwards. Alternatively, devote the day to Montjuïc and its cultural venues. Pick one area; crossing between both makes a short stay feel unnecessarily hurried.
Food and local stops
Look for Catalan dishes and a neighbourhood lunch menu. Market halls can be useful for browsing, but compare prices before assuming every stall is a bargain.
Before you book
Check whether your hotel quote includes local visitor taxes. For busy attractions, buy the admission you need before paying for a wider city pass.
